Erythematosus (SLE) Biospecimens
Sanguine has a donor community of over 3000 individuals diagnosed with SLE. We offer retrospective and prospective collections in a variety of formats - leukopaks, whole blood, PBMCs, plasma, and serum. Additionally, with comprehensive donor data, we can provide insight into the samples.
Biospecimens from Sanguine are more than the sample
The following laboratory results are commonly provided with Sanguine's SLE biospecimens to provide deeper insight for your studies.
- anti-dsDNA titer
- anti-SM titer
- C3 and C4 levels
- Urinalysis
- Liver function test
Inclusion and Exclusion (I/E) Criteria
With our large donor network, we can accommodate many I/E criteria. For SLE some of the most common criteria are disease severity including using adapted SLEDAI scoring. We can also provide information on recent symptoms such as migraines, arthritis/joint pains, fever, rashes, and more. Additionally, preferences for I/E of particular medications is possible.

Selected SLE Publications
As each study has unique requirements, the below publications give just two examples how Sanguine has partnered to recruit, consent donors, and collect samples to fit our client's project needs. In Vendel et al., the team needed samples collected from donors with SLE who had a recent self-reported flare, as well as healthy donors, whereas in Panwar et al., the need was confirmed diagnosis by meeting ACR SLE criteria and self-reported active symptoms. With our extensive Donor Network and comprehensive medical records, we can achieve your biospecimen needs.
