How the Donation Process Works
Screening
Once you have signed up to participate in the AbbVie Onsite Healthy Donor Program, one of our research coordinators will reach out to conduct an over-the-phone screening that takes about 10-15 minutes.
During the screen, you will be asked questions about your health and demographic information.
Informed Consent and Documentation
Once you are deemed eligible to participate in a study, you will be emailed an Informed Consent Form (ICF).
Informed Consent is the most important aspect of any research study as it outlines and confirms research participants' rights. The ICF may be signed electronically.
Appointment
After all proper documentation is on file, we will schedule your blood collection appointment with one of our trained, licensed phlebotomists.
One the day of your appointment, please make sure to be hydrated and follow all instructions provided by your research coordinator.
Compensation
At the end of your appointment, $100 will be loaded onto a reloadable VISA giftcard for your contribution.
Got a question?
You will receive a $100 reloadable giftcard at your first donation appointment. The giftcard will be loaded with your compensation each time you participate within 24 hours of your donation time.
You can donate every 7 days, a maximum of ~4 times a month as long as you are within the blood volume donation limit allowed which 180mL every 6 weeks.
Your safety and privacy are our primary concerns. Sanguine retains directly identifying information of participants but replaces the name and contact information with a code before providing the data and samples to AbbVie. No samples we share with researchers contain any information that can directly identify you. We implement policies and procedures to protect your personal information in compliance with the law.
Preparation varies depending on the type of appointment. Your clinical research coordinator will review preparation needed before your appointment. For appointments that require blood draws, hydration is very important. Not being sufficiently hydrated can make it difficult to find a vein. Drink at least 2 glasses of water before your appointment. In addition, please refrain from drinking alcohol 24 hours prior to your blood draw.
Yes, you can withdraw at any time.
After you provide your basic health information, we will review your health profile within 48 hours to see if you might qualify.
When a research coordinator calls you, he/she will ask you questions regarding your medical history to determine if you qualify to be a participant in this program. He/she will also walk you through the Informed Consent process and what you should expect going forward.
All of our mobile health staff undergo an extensive background check and screening process, ensuring that only the most experienced and trusted mobile health staff are a part of the Sanguine team.
