Human Synovial Fluid Samples for Research

Human synovial fluid samples are collected from clinically confirmed donors and support a wide range of inflammation, autoimmune, rheumatology, and translational research applications. Sanguine provides research-use-only synovial fluid specimens with flexible sourcing options for healthy and disease-state donor programs.

These high-quality synovial fluid samples can support studies focused on cytokine activity, immune-cell profiling, biomarker discovery, proteomic analysis, and therapeutic response. Whether your team needs retrospective inventory or custom prospective collection, we work with you to align specimen sourcing to your research objectives.

What Is Synovial Fluid?

Synovial fluid is the viscous, clear-to-pale-yellow fluid found in the cavities of synovial joints such as the knee, hip, and shoulder. Rich in hyaluronic acid and lubricin, it lubricates the joint, reduces friction between articular cartilage surfaces, and delivers nutrients to cartilage. Because its cellular and biochemical composition changes measurably in arthritis and autoimmune joint disease, synovial fluid is a valuable specimen for studying inflammation, cartilage degradation, and joint pathology.
