Whole Blood
About: Human Whole Blood Samples for Research Source human blood samples and fresh whole blood from IRB-consented healthy and disease-state donors.
Fresh Whole Blood
Human whole blood samples for research are collected from IRB-consented donors with clinically confirmed healthy or disease-state diagnoses. These fresh whole blood specimens support immunology, oncology, autoimmune disease, biomarker discovery, and other translational research applications. What Is Whole Blood?
Whole blood is unprocessed human blood containing all of its cellular components – red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets (approximately 45% of total volume) suspended in plasma (approximately 55% of total volume). Because it retains every cell population and soluble factor, whole blood is the specimen closest to true physiological conditions, making it ideal for immune-response, biomarker, and drug mechanism-of-action studies.
