High-Purity Human CD3+ T Cells for Immunology and Cell Therapy Research

Human CD3+ T cells are purified from the peripheral blood of IRB-consented donors under IRB-approved protocols and cryopreserved in CryoStor® CS10 media. These isolated CD3+ T cells support T cell biology, cancer immunotherapy, autoimmune disease research, TCR-based drug development, and other human T cell research applications, delivering high viability and consistent performance for in vitro and in vivo studies. What CD3+ Selection Gives You

CD3 is not a lineage marker of convenience — it is the signal-transducing core of the T cell receptor complex. Selecting on CD3 therefore captures the functional T cell compartment as a whole, which determines what these cells can and cannot be used for.

  • CD3+ isolation yields the total mature T cell pool: CD4+ helper, CD8+ cytotoxic, regulatory, memory and naive subsets, and unconventional populations such as gamma-delta and NKT-like T cells, preserved in their donor-native proportions.
  • Because subset ratios are retained, CD3+ preparations are the right starting point when the readout depends on T cell composition; single-subset work is better served by CD4+ or CD8+ isolations.
  • The CD3 complex is the target of anti-CD3 antibody stimulation, so CD3+ cells respond to standard polyclonal activation with anti-CD3 and anti-CD28 without further manipulation.
  • CD3+ T cells are the conventional starting material for CAR-T and TCR-T engineering, where transduction and expansion efficiency are assessed against a defined input population.
  • Cryopreservation in CryoStor® CS10, a defined serum-free medium, supports reproducible post-thaw viability and reduces the lot-to-lot variability introduced by serum-containing freeze media.
  • Isolating T cells within 24 hours of collection limits ex vivo activation and apoptosis, so the recovered cells better reflect the donor’s circulating T cell state.

Are samples IRB approved?

1 Answer

YES – All collections are conducted under IRB-approved protocols and electronic informed consent. Sanguine utilizes Advarra and WCG IRB for oversight.

YES – all our products are research use only (RUO).

Storage depends on sample type but often cryopreserved samples stored in liquid nitrogen can be stored for years.

Extensive customization is available. To discuss your project request a quote or email us at learnmore@sanguinebio.com.

Sanguine offers flexible prospective collection services tailored to fit your research. For more information and to request a quote, please see: our prospective biospecimen collection services page.

Timelines depend on condition, sample type, and I/E criteria but we often start collection within 2 weeks of signed agreement.

YES – we have in-stock inventory. You can also email us at learnmore@sanguinebio.com as we continually get new samples in our inventory.

Each sample from a different individual – Unique donor means each sample comes from a different person, ensuring biological diversity in your study.

YES – Unique donors can be specified and guaranteed based on your requirements.

For information about sample quality, please see: Quality and Compliance

YES – “IRB-approved collection protocols” and IRB approval documentation available upon request. Sanguine utilizes two internationally-recognized IRBs (Advarra and WCG IRB) for review and approval.
