Leukopak Collection Services
Leukopak Collection Services
Fresh and frozen human leukopaks, collected to your specifications
Built for cell therapy development, immunology research, and translational science.
Sanguine Bio provides flexible, high-quality leukopak collection services. Whether you need a single leukopak or a recurring supply from donors with defined characteristics, our experienced team manages the entire process - from donor recruitment and apheresis scheduling to processing, QC, and shipment.
What is a leukopak?
A leukopak (also called a leukapheresis product) is a concentrated preparation of white blood cells collected from a donor via an apheresis procedure. Because the collection is targeted specifically at leukocytes, a single leukopak can yield billions of cells - far more than a standard whole blood draw.
Leukopaks are available fresh (same-day or next-day) or cryopreserved, depending on your downstream application requirements.
Why choose Sanguine for leukopak collection?
Apheresis under IRB-approved protocols
All leukopak collections are conducted under IRB-approved protocols with electronic informed consent. Sanguine utilizes Advarra and WCG IRB for oversight, ensuring full regulatory compliance for your research.
Customizable donor profiles
No two studies are alike. We work with you to define inclusion/exclusion criteria and match donors to your exact specifications - including age, sex, BMI, HLA, CMV/EBV status, disease state, and treatment history.
Fresh or frozen delivery
Leukopaks can be shipped fresh for time-sensitive workflows or cryopreserved for long-term storage and repeated use. Fresh leukopaks are typically available within 2 weeks of a signed agreement, with expedited options when collections are already scheduled.
Scalable volume
Sanguine collects leukopaks with yields of up to 150 mL of apheresis product per collection, providing billions of cells per donor. Multi-donor and multi-unit collections can be arranged to meet large-scale manufacturing or research needs.
Quality you can count on
Leukopaks undergo rigorous QC including cell count, viability, and sterility testing. Healthy donor leukopaks routinely yield PBMCs with post-thaw viability exceeding 95% using our validated cryopreservation protocols. Up to 2B PBMCs from a single donor.
Rolling collection schedule
Sanguine schedules apheresis collections on a rolling basis. View upcoming leukopak collection dates and reserve a slot directly through our researcher portal, or request a custom collection tailored to your study.

How leukopak collection works
Define your requirements
Share your donor criteria, required cell yield, preferred format (fresh or frozen), and timeline. Our team will confirm feasibility and provide a quote.
Donor recruitment & screening
Sanguine recruits donors from our extensive network of consented participants. Donors are pre-screened against your inclusion/exclusion criteria and undergo health screening prior to collection.
Apheresis collection
Collections are performed at Sanguine's apheresis facility or a partnered clinical site. Procedures are conducted by trained apheresis nurses under physician oversight.
Processing & QC
Leukopaks undergo immediate processing and quality control testing - including cell count, viability, and sterility assessment. Optional downstream processing such as PBMC isolation is available.
Shipment
Fresh leukopaks are shipped same-day or next-day on ice. Cryopreserved leukopaks are shipped on dry ice via overnight courier with chain-of-custody documentation.
See upcoming collections & reserve your leukopak
Reserving a collection slot ensures you receive a fresh leukopak from a donor matched to your criteria with rapid turnaround. We also regularly schedule collections to fit the needs of a specific study.
