HIV Plasma | Human Plasma from HIV-Positive Donors

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Plasma is collected from donors clinically diagnosed with HIV and processed within hours of collection to preserve key analytes such as viral RNA, cytokines, proteins, and metabolites. This human plasma supports viral load quantification, drug resistance research, and immune biomarker studies. Bulk apheresis plasma is available for high-volume programmes.

Specify Viral Load and Treatment Status

HIV plasma is not a single product — what the sample contains depends almost entirely on where the donor sits in their treatment course, and this is the most common source of mismatch between what researchers order and what they need:

• Viremic, treatment-naive — detectable to high viral load; the material for viral load assay calibration, sequencing, and drug resistance work
• On ART, virally suppressed — viral load below detection limits. Correct for immune reconstitution and chronic inflammation studies, but unsuitable for anything requiring detectable virus
• Elite controllers and long-term non-progressors — rare donors maintaining suppression without therapy; available as a custom collection
• Acute and early infection — including seroconversion series where collected
• Defined viral load ranges — samples selected to hit a target copies/mL window for assay validation
