Serum or plasma?

Serum

The fraction left after the blood clots, with no anticoagulant. Most commercial immunoassay kits are validated on serum, so it's the default for protein and antibody work, metabolomics and biomarker panels.

Plasma

Drawn with an anticoagulant, so it retains what clotting consumes. Use it for cytokines, coagulation factors, cfDNA and proteomics, or when you need large single-donor volumes.

If your assay was validated on one, don't substitute the other — the matrix differs and the results won't be comparable. We can supply both from the same donor and the same draw if you need to bridge between them.

Lot documentation

What ships with every disease-state serum lot

Each lot carries the confirmed diagnosis, current medications, donor demographics, collection and processing detail, aliquot volume and format. Collections run under IRB-approved protocols with consented donors and HIPAA-compliant data handling.

Supplied for Research Use Only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.

Confirmed diagnosis

Verified against the donor's medical record, not self-reported.

Current medications

Medications at the time of the draw, as reported by the donor.

Demographics

Age, sex, race and ethnicity, BMI where recorded.

Collection and processing

Collection date is recorded, and samples are processed using validated protocols.

Volume and format

Aliquot volume, single-donor or pooled, fresh or frozen.

Documentation

Certificate of analysis, IRB protocol summary and consent documentation on request.

Matched specimens from the same draw

Serum with matched plasma, PBMCs, whole blood or synovial fluid from the same donor and the same collection. Ordering matched sets removes a source of variability you would otherwise have to model around.

Browse plasma, disease-state PBMCs, whole blood and leukopaks.
